August has been quite a hectic month, both at home and at work. On the work front, saying it has been a hectic schedule would be an understatement as it has always been like this – tight, hectic and almost chaotic. I used to have calmer weekends, wherein I stole a few moments of solitude and privacy with my family. However a deluge of visitors has kept me occupied and engrossed for a good part of the month.
First it was the relatives from her side. Her maternal uncle and aunt came calling. Its been almost 2 years since the last time they visited us. In fact they had gone to Coorg to drop their second daughter who is doing a BDS course and had stopped by in Delhi where their elder daughter is pursuing her Masters degree. In fact the kid also came along. My son Apul had a great time with them as very few of our relatives visit us here in Chandigarh
Then it was the turn of my good old friend K. A lawyer by profession and based in Delhi, K is an enthusiastic traveller, whenever time permits. We had also planned earlier, but somehow the earlier planned visits couldn’t materialise for some reason or the other. Besides, we also wanted a sort of get-together for our families as even though K and I often meet or talk on the phone, our families have hardly met.
